INDIVIDUAL THERAPY WITH ADULTS — Telehealth with Heart

Welcome. You’re not here to perform a perfect audition for healing—you’re here to show up as your full self, and that deserves a space that’s safe, affirming, and very human. I’m Del Knight, a dual-licensed therapist (Oregon and Washington) who combines Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, and trauma-informed care with a commitment to social justice. If you’re navigating gender identity, race, spirituality, or any piece of your life that doesn’t fit a neat box, you’re in the right place. I currently conduct all therapy online because mental health should be accessible no matter where life finds you, pajamas optional.

WHAT I OFFER

  • Telehealth therapy for adults: convenient, private sessions you can attend from home (or anywhere* you feel most yourself), pajama pants encouraged.

  • An approach that centers you: I work from IFS-informed, Gestalt, decolonial, and somatic-informed perspectives, with a trauma-informed backbone.

  • WPATH-informed assessments and letter writing when you’re exploring gender-affirming care.

  • A collaborative, non-judgmental space: you bring your story; I bring curiosity, warmth, and a sturdy sense of humor when appropriate.

For more information about my educational and clinical background, please view my CV.

* NOTE: Licensure Boards require that the client be physically in the state in which I am licensed (Oregon or Washington).

“When something happens to the body that is too much, too fast, or too soon it overwhelms the body and can create trauma. Contrary to what many people believe, trauma is not primarily an emotional response. Trauma always happens in the body. It is a spontaneous, protective mechanism used by the body to stop or thwart further or future potential damage. Trauma is not a flaw or a weakness. It is a highly effective tool of safety and survival. Trauma is also not an event. Trauma is the body’s protective response to an event or a series of events that is perceived as potentially dangerous.”

WHY THIS SPACE WORKS

Research shows the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the strongest predictor of progress. That’s why I lead with connection—clear boundaries, honest conversations, and a stance of cultural humility. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and supported as you navigate your unique path toward growth, wholeness, and more self-compassion.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

  • A trauma-informed, body- and spirit-inclusive framework: I consider mind, body, spirit, and environment, so you don’t have to do healing in isolation.

  • Explicit commitment to inclusivity: I work with diverse identities and lived experiences, including gender diversity, racial identity, religious or spiritual backgrounds, and sexuality.

  • Practical, real-world collaboration: we’ll set meaningful goals, track progress, and address barriers—while keeping the process human and manageable.

SPECIALITIES

  • Body Activism (e.g., Body Trust, fat liberation, relationship with the body)

  • Gender Identity (e.g., trans, nonbinary, and questioning)

  • Race/Ethnicity (e.g., areas of privilege and non-privilege, specifically addressing intersections of power, privilege, and oppression)

  • Sex (e.g., pleasure, stigma, kink/BDSM)

  • Sexuality (e.g., queer, pansexual, asexual, aromantic, demisexual, questioning)

  • Spirituality (e.g., integration with marginalized identities, spiritual/religious trauma)

  • Trauma (trauma-informed and broad-based multicultural feminist approach not limited to PTSD; inclusive of marginalized identities and experiences with micro/macroaggressions)
